The Effectiveness of Efforts to Eradicate Narcotics Among Adolescents by the Tabir Barat District Police in 2021, Merangin Regency

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness and constraints or obstacles in eradicating Narcotics based on the Law on narcotics in West Tabar District, Merangin Regency by the West Tabir Police. This type of research is empirical legal research which in other terms is usually called sociological legal research or also known as field research. The method in this study using a socio-legal approach is important because it is able to provide a more holistic view or legal phenomena in society. The results of this study indicate that the police have carried out their duties effectively so that they can reduce the number of drug users among adolescents by hunting down drug dealers and providing strict sanctions, in carrying out their duties it's just that the results are not maximal from what we hope for together. efforts to eradicate narcotics by the police for the jurisdiction of West Tabir found an obstacle that often occurs, namely that many people still cover up this matter because the community has family relations if in rural areas because in a village the community has family relations as a whole. And the community thinks that police action that has been effective will be able to eradicate all drug trafficking and drug use activities in Tabir Barat District
