Abstract

This writing is in the order of normative legal studies, by examining the political dynamics of the election of Village Heads in Merangin Regency based on Merangin Regency Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2016 concerning Guidelines and Procedures for Nomination, Election, Appointment, and Dismissal of Village Heads and Village Apparatus. The research method used in the preparation of this research uses normative juridical research methods, normative juridical research methods include studies of legal principles, level of legal synchronization, with a statutory approach. With the method used, it can be seen that the village head election in Merangin Regency in 2022 is a picture of a direct election, which really must be considered by the state with various facilities, for all needs in its implementation. The Village Head Election (Pilkades) was simultaneously held in 172 villages throughout the Merangin Regency, which was held on May 14, 2022, the Pilkades in Merangin Regency was not as simple as imagined. because there are many rules that must be followed as well as concerning the lives and interests of many people. Starting from the process, the results to the post-Village Head Election activities are a unified whole and closely related in determining the direction and agenda for the next six years where the village will be taken.
