THE ROLE OF YOUTH AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE AGENT IN THE ORDER TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the important role of youth in environmental sustainable development. The research method used is the empirical juridical method, by looking directly at the reality in the field and seeing the activeness of the reality in the field as well as studying theories related to the Environment and describing the law regarding the importance of the role of youth as agents of environmental change. This research was conducted on youth in Kungkai Village. From the data collection from the research conducted, it can be seen that the conventional development pattern that exploits the environment on a large scale is an outdated pattern and must be immediately supported by an alternative development pattern, namely the pattern of sustainable development, which of course involves all elements of society in particular. young man. The youth in this case do not have to enforce the law in their environment, what must be done as a first step is to provide guarantees for themselves first. The government plays an important role in the activeness of youth as agents of change, the government must conduct socialization to youth, besides that it is also necessary to regulate the functioning of youth, so that young people have a strong foundation in saving the environment.
