Abstract
This research originated from a serious problem that occurred between the people of Guguk Village and PT. Injapsin has gone through a tortuous process and a long journey in an effort to defend the Tapanggang Hill area which was included in the customary land of the Pembarap clan from 1997 until it was formed. The customary forest was recognized and legalized in 2003. This study aims to determine the Performance of the Guguk Village Customary Forest Management Group in Customary Forest Management. Tapanggang Hill. This type of research is qualitative research. The research was conducted in Guguk Village, Renah Pemberap District, Merangin District, Jambi Province. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data display/data presentation, drawing conclusions and then verifying them. Based on research findings and discussion, it is concluded as follows. First, the performance of the Guguk Indigenous Forest Management Group has been regulated and structured in the form of legal recognition by the Regional Government through Merangin Regent Decree No. 287 of 2003 concerning the inauguration of the Tapanggang Hill Area as an Indigenous Forest. Second, the use of the Guguk Customary Forest in Guguk village has been felt by the Guguk people who can depend on it for their livelihood. With performance and local wisdom a form of values, attitudes, perceptions, behavior and responses of a local community that interacts in a living system with nature and the environment. Third, the obstacle in managing the Guguk customary forest in Guguk village, namely when the Guguk customary forest was established, negative thoughts emerged from various communities and during the management of the Guguk customary forest, there were many people who did not heed the regulations that had been set.
