Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of human rights protection on individual political participation, with a focus on a gender perspective. Human rights and political participation are crucial issues in building a just and democratic society. Effective human rights protection—which includes freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and protection from gender-based discrimination—is key to ensuring equitable and fair political participation for all citizens. The study uses a qualitative case study method to explore in depth how human rights protection affects the level of individual political participation based on their gender identity. The research findings indicate that strong human rights protection has a significant impact on political participation, especially for women. Obstacles such as limited access to political information, a lack of safe freedom of speech and assembly, and cultural norms and gender stereotypes often hinder women's political participation. Therefore, this study recommends more decisive policy measures, such as increasing women's access to political information, strengthening legal protections for freedom of speech and assembly, and changing perceptions and cultural norms regarding gender equality in politics.
