Factors of Narcotics Crime in Muara Siau District, Merangin Regency (Case Study of Muara Siau Police)

Abstract

This study aims to determine the regulation of narcotics crimes in Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and to determine the factors that influence narcotics crimes that occur in Muara Siau District, Merangin Regency. The research method used is empirical juridical research by looking directly at the reality in the field and seeing the activeness of the reality in the field and studying the applicable laws and regulations that are concerned with the Factors of Narcotics Crime in Muara Siau District, Merangin Regency (Case Study Muara Siau Police). In this research, the sample was determined by means of purposive sampling, namely the sample was selected based on the consideration that the selected respondents knew more about the problem carefully. The results of the study show that the division of classification in the Narcotics Law is different from the general division which is often referred to by the public, namely narcotics dealers and narcotics users. However, this Narcotics Law implicitly explains again about who can be called a dealer based on their role and who can be called a User. The factor of narcotics abuse will not be far from the surroundings, namely family factors, environmental factors outside the family.
