Abstract

Code mixing is the use of two or more languages ​​in certain situations and conditions. The use of code mixing is carried out by speakers who master two or more languages.Facebook is one of the media that is often found in bilingual use, both regional languages, Indonesian and foreign languages. The aim of this research is to reveal and describe the forms and functions of code mixing on social mediaFacebook. The theories used in this research are the theories of linguistics, context, sociolinguistics, bilingualism, code mixing, and social media.Facebook. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis. The research results show that in status on social mediaFacebook, there are three forms of code mixing, namely code mixing into (inner code mixing), mix exit codes (outner code mixing) and mixed code mix (hybrid code mixing). The code mixing found mainly included regional or foreign languages ​​in the status. Then there are two forms of code mixing based on the level of linguistic devices, namely code mixing at the phrase level and code mixing at the word level. There are three functions of code mixing, namely to promote sales, to convey feelings of happiness and gratitude, and to insinuate someone, to seek and convey information.
