Semantic Analysis in Covid-19 Slogans on Social Media

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of public knowledge of meaning. in the current era of globalization, technology is growing rapidly so that it is easy for us to get information. Therefore, we are all required to be able to interpret something both in the from of oral speech and in written from such as slogans.  The purpose of this study is to describe the lexical from and meaning in the Covid-19  slogan on social media that focuses on Google and Instagram. The method used in this study is a qualitative  method using the content analysis method. Data collection techiniques used in this study using documentation techniques. The results showed that there were 171 word found from 25 Covid-19 slogans found on social media, including 15 slogans found on Google and 9 slogans found on Instagram. The lexical meanings contained in the 24 slogans are inviting people to wear masks, wash their hands, keep their distance, avoid crowds and follow health protocols.
